The backrest of this chair is a crescent — a wide, shallow arc of cream teddy bouclé that spans the full width of the chair, rounds at the top, and curves downward at both ends. From the front, it reads as a half-moon sitting above the seat. From the side, the backrest tilts backward at approximately 15 degrees and the top edge curls slightly rearward, like a leaf caught in a slow backward fold. From behind, the backrest is a complete semicircle of upholstered fabric, fully covered on both faces.

The armrests are open frames — a single curved walnut-toned rail that arcs from the rear leg forward to the front leg, with the space between the rail and the seat frame left completely open. There is no solid panel, no flat surface, and no padding on the armrests. The curved rail is the armrest, and the negative space beneath it is as much a part of the design as the wood itself. From the side, the arc of the armrest rail echoes the arc of the backrest above it.

The frame is solid wood in a medium walnut tone — warmer and lighter than the deep walnut used in other Bay Furniture dining chairs, closer to natural oak in colour. The four legs taper from a wider section at the top to a narrow point at the floor, and splay outward in all four directions. The leg profile is rounded rather than square, and the surface is smooth and consistent in colour throughout.
