This chair uses two different upholstery textures on the same piece — a deliberate material contrast that is visible from across the room and unmistakable up close.

The backrest and armrests are a single continuous U-shaped shell in cream short-pile teddy bouclé — a dense, tightly looped fabric with a surface that reads as soft and consistent. The shell wraps forward from behind, curving around the sides of the body and extending into two soft armrests that rest on the walnut frame. The top of the backrest is rounded. The inner and outer faces of the shell are both upholstered.

The seat is long-pile shaggy fabric — a cream and natural sand mix with individual fibres approximately 3–4cm long, loose and directional, that shift and catch light as the seat is used. The contrast between the tight loops of the bouclé backrest and the long, loose pile of the shaggy seat is the defining characteristic of this chair. Both fabrics are in the same cream and warm sand colour range, so the contrast is textural rather than tonal.

The four legs are solid walnut-toned wood, tapering from a wider section at the top to a narrow point at the floor, and splaying outward in all four directions. The joint between each leg and the seat frame is a smooth curved transition. The frame is deep walnut-toned throughout.

The two-texture upholstery suits warm, layered interiors where tactile contrast is part of the design intention — jute rugs, linen curtains, dried pampas arrangements, and ceramic vessels. The long-pile shaggy seat performs best in rooms with natural light, where the directional fibres catch and shift with the changing light through the day. Pair with sintered stone dining tables in warm ivory, or with solid walnut tables where the chair frame echoes the table material. A large ceramic vase with dried pampas beside the chair is the natural companion.
