Bay Furniture Spiral Tower Walnut Bookshelf
Bay Furniture Spiral Tower Walnut Bookshelf
A single wide band of solid walnut-toned wood winds from a circular base up to a solid round cap, completing approximately five full rotations as it rises. Each half-rotation creates a shelf. The shelves are semicircular, cantilevered from the central column, and open on the outer edge — there is no back wall, no enclosure, no frame. Just the spiral, the column, and the books.
The central column is round in section and runs the full height of the piece. The spiral band wraps around it continuously, with the grain of the wood following the curve at every point. The base is a flat circular disc with small feet. The top is a solid round cap that closes the column and gives the tower a finished silhouette from above.
The second image shows the bookshelf in a UAE-style study corner — on a Persian rug, beside a walnut desk, against a warm beige wall. The shelves are styled with books, gold decorative objects, and a small model boat. The tower reaches approximately three-quarters of ceiling height and occupies a footprint no larger than a dining chair.
Key Features
- Continuous spiral structure – A single wide band of solid walnut-toned wood winds around a central column from base to top, with each half-rotation forming one semicircular shelf
- Open 360° access – No back wall or enclosure — books and objects are accessible from any angle, and the spiral is visible from all sides
- Round central column – Full-height solid walnut column at the centre, around which the spiral wraps continuously
- Circular base and solid top cap – Flat disc base with small feet at the bottom, solid round cap at the top — consistent circular geometry throughout
- Tall tower proportions – Extremely tall relative to its footprint, suitable for high-ceiling rooms and corner placement
- Deep walnut tone – Rich, consistent colour with visible grain flowing through the spiral curves
Styling Notes
Works best in a corner or as a freestanding tower in an open space. Style each semicircular shelf with a mix of books and objects — the open structure means everything is visible from multiple angles, so the arrangement matters. Gold and brass objects read particularly well against the deep walnut tone. Avoid overcrowding — the spiral itself is the display.
